As the Roma players prepare for their final preseason game in Rome on Sunday, their squad is still looking ahead to the Champions League match against Real Madrid.
It was only a few days ago that Roma coach Marco Melandri revealed that he expects the young Algerian to be in the starting line-up for the match.
But Koulis hasnt exactly been in the first team this season, which could make things tricky for Roma.
The 19-year-old has only been involved in a few games since he joined the Giallorossi from Genoa, but the young striker is still expected to get the nod.
The only problem is that he could be forced into the bench for this crucial match.
Roma could also be in trouble as a result, given the injuries that have plagued the team.
It is not just Kouliabaly that has struggled for game time.
Nico Bresciano has also been out with an injury, and the only player that Mino Pozzo has been able to get to the pitch is Sergio Romero.
The Roma manager has said that the team is very strong, but also said that it needs a bit of experience.
If the team fails to deliver on the pitch, there will be no time to recover.
Roma will be without the injured players, and they will need the likes of Koulijbouli, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Andrea Ranocchia to step up.
With the players ready to face Madrid, it will be interesting to see how the Roma players will react.
