The birthday cake is one of the most popular and often overlooked items in a home.
It’s one of your first and most important gifts.
It can also serve as a source of inspiration.
You can create a beautiful and elegant centerpiece for your home, as well as a fun and memorable centerpiece for friends, family, and loved ones.
It doesn’t need to be too fancy.
I love making cakes for my daughter and my family, but I think that it’s important to think about what you want your cake to look like and what your guests will be expecting.
In this tutorial, I’m going to show you how to make a beautiful birthday cake with just five ingredients.
The basic ingredients for your cake: Cake flour 1 cup cake flour 3 tablespoons of cornstarch 1 teaspoon of baking powder 1/4 teaspoon of salt 1 tablespoon of water 1.5 tablespoons of baking soda 1 egg 1 large egg white 1/4 cup of white sugar 2 tablespoons of milk 3 cups of water Topping: 2-3 tablespoons chocolate chips 1-2 teaspoons of butter 2 teaspoons cinnamon 2 1/2 tablespoons butter, melted 1 1/8 tablespoons of powdered sugar 1 or 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract 1 to 2 teaspoons of vanilla optional: sprinkles, chocolate chips, or any other decoration you desire Topping tips: When using the cake flour, it is best to use a whole wheat flour, rather than a flour with a high gluten content, like all-purpose.
If using a whole grain flour, add the flour slowly, to avoid the dough breaking up.
For a thicker cake, you can add the cake batter in small batches to form a dough.
Bake at 350°F for 12-14 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the top has doubled in size.
Do not leave the cake unattended.
Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes, then flip the cake.
Place the top on a cooling rack and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour.
Remove from the refrigerator, then return to the baking sheet for another 15-20 minutes to harden the top.
(You can skip this step if you are baking in a muffin pan.)
After the cake has cooled, remove the pan from the baking tray and let it cool for another 5 minutes.
Dip a large knife into the cake, then place the cake into the freezer for about 1 hour, then drain on paper towels.
You will need to make 2-3 extra rounds of icing for your birthday cake, depending on how large your cake is.
Mix the icing ingredients into a bowl.
Combine the cake ingredients in a large bowl.
Mix with the whisk attachment of your mixer until the cake is smooth.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Sprinkle the cake with the remaining icing ingredients.
Cut the cake using a sharp knife or cookie cutter.
I used a large cookie cutter to make this cake.
You may need to use smaller, or even non-stick, cookie cutters.
Make sure the sides of the cake are not lined with wax paper, or they will be damaged. Enjoy!
